Let kids relive the Star Wars saga by learning to draw Darth Vader, the prime antagonist whose evil actions drive the plot of the movies forward. The figure is covered entirely with an armor suit and mask. Read on to portray it on canvas.
Step 1: Draw a straight line to divide the page into 2 halves. You would need it as your guide. Draw an oval on top.
Step 2: Make a bucket-like structure with a double-lined bottom.
Step 3: Two straight lines are now drawn to reach the bottom of the figure ending in circles. They act as guides for the legs.
Step 4: Angular structures are the guides for the hands.
Step 5: End the above with a couple of circles and shape a band on the head.
Step 6: Start drawing the helmet.
Step 7: Draw the flaps of the head gear.
Step 8: An angular structure is drawn to cover the lower part of the face and ending at the chin.
Step 9: Draw the eye sockets of the costume.
Step 10: Create the part of the mask covering the mouth.
Step 11: Triangular structures are drawn on both the sides of the mouthpiece.
Step 12: An irregular upper covering of the chest is drawn.
Step 13: Sketch a square on the chest followed by the belt and arm caps.
Step 14: Draw the left hand now. It is actually covered by the armor suit and the gloves.
Step 15: Now comes the turn of drawing the right hand.
Step 16: You would need curvy lines and angular figures to fill up the upper part of the suit.
Step 17: Draw the flaps of the robe and a nearly U-shaped line to join them.
Step 18: Now give shape to the armored legs showing from under the robe.
Step 19: A large cape covers the entire body. Also, draw the shoes and the lightsaber.
Step 20: Complete by drawing lines signifying the folds of the cape and the under robe. An oval is drawn on the codpiece.
Once you are done with the above steps, you can color the Jedi knight in shades of your choice. In that case, keep your black and gray color pencils handy. You can use bright colors for the LED lights on the chest and the belt.
