The gentle seahorse is a beautiful creature that kids would love to put on canvas. Their body is characterized by fins, gills, trunk and tail rings, a coronet (the upper part of the head) and large eyes. A simple step by step guide should help children complete the activity.
Step 1: Draw 3 ovals as shown.
Step 2: Sketch the long snout.
Step 3: Join the upper 2 ovals with curvy lines.
Step 4: Similarly, connect the lower 2 ovals.
Step 5: Draw the dorsal fin.
Step 6: Detail the snout.
Step 7: Sketch the spiky coronet.
Step 8: Draw the eye.
Step 9: Make the left guide drawn in step 3 spiky.
Step 10: Continue up to the bottom.
Step 11: Draw the coiled tail.
Step 12: Create an ‘S’-shaped structure.
Step 13: A C-shaped structure signifies the pectoral fin.
Step 14: The dorsal fin is a similar striped structure.
Step 15: Detail the trunk rings and rectangular bony plates covering the body.
Don’t hold yourself back from coloring the fish in shades of your choice. Since seahorses are known to change their body color, you can try a hand at merging hues here.
Thank you and may God Bless you and Yours.
