Try your hands at drawing the mythological animal, unicorn by following a set of clear instructions. Though it was known to be difficult to be tamed, to capture the highly desired creature of yore in your canvas shouldn’t prove to be a big deal.
Step 1
Make an upright oval for the head and a horizontal one for the torso. Draw a couple of curved lines for joining the two ovals thus forming the neck. Follow that up by representing the legs, wings, tail and horn by single curved lines.
Step 2
Do the detailing of the head, neck and forelegs as shown in the images 4, 5 and 6. Be careful while drawing the eye as that infuses life into the sketch.
Step 3
Complete the other hoofed legs and the back. Use smooth curves for giving them their shape.
Step 4
Sketch the thick tail and the wide serrated wings.
Step 5
Finish off by drawing the mane and the symbolic horn.
Though the sketch has an intermediate level of difficulty, it goes a long way in teaching you to draw graceful curves and arches. It has been based on the initial guidelines drawn in the first step. Hence, stay careful to maintain a suitable ratio between the sizes of the head, trunk and the legs. Best of luck with this antique piece of art.
I’m confused…….Unicorns don’t *have* wings…..Pegasus does, but not a horn… You’ve got them both in one somehow.
